Crazy busy creative days

Are you ready for Thanksgiving? Just when I think I am I find one more thing that really needs to get done before my family arrives.One more box that I can fill with the unnecessary item's of the moment.

I am a bit of a pack rat so when family comes I tend to try to put some things away.Cleaning comes to a whole new level as well.I did still find time to do a bit of shopping at Michaels.

Some new paint from the Martha Stewart line.They are not to bad for some highlights here and there.Derwent Inktense Pencils are a dream.They take to water wonderfully and if you haven't tried them I suggest you do.The only thing is,you need to be sure not to layer over paint.I tried layering over Liquitex Basics and they did not do so well.There are a ton of videos on you tube for them so check those out.The next on the list is Reeves water soluble crayons.I haven't really given them a go yet in my Journal.I like trying new things but the small amount that I did try I was not super impressed.They would be ok I suppose if you wanted to try water soluble crayons but I would suggest getting some open stock of the Caran or Sennelier instead.Still if your on a budget give them a try and maybe use as a high light instead.

 I also found time to start a new collage/ painting.This girl is coming along nicely I think.I went with some fall colors and the color of the roses in the paper match the ones in my garden.I love her hair and the almost pinkish orange you can see through the white.

I will post another picture of her when she is finished she is nearly there.Well that was my busy days hope all of you have had creative days as well.I will be posting again after Thanksgiving.Until then drink,eat and be merrier then you have ever been before.

    I hope you had a nice thanksgiving! I love having the family around, but for me it's so stressful to get everything 'perfect'...haha. Martha Stewart would laugh at my idea of perfect, but oh well :)
    Love the collage girl so far, can't wait to see how she progresses!!

    it must be an artist thing, but I get excited by pics of art supplies, lol! I saw the Martha Stewart paints in Michaels, and wondered about them. If they ever go on sale I may pick up a couple and try them out.
    your girl looks good so far, can't wait to see where you go with her:-D

    thanks for stopping by my blog, I think it's kind of nice to put your tree up Christmas eve, it would make it seem more 'magical' I guess. Mine got finished this weekend, it's so much work, I need to make it worthwhile, lol!
